Sun, Sea and CSI Miami
“A new regular addition to the cast from series 2 is Sofia Milos. Sofia plays Yelina Salas (though i think that should be Caine) who is the main police detective that helps CSI. She was married to Horatio’s brother Raymond who was killed a few years previous in a drug deal gone wrong.
This character (and Actress) and the underlying storyline between Yelina and Horatio is one of the reasons where season 2 is better than season one.”

Ok if you havent caught one of the best TV shows to come out of america in recent years heres your chance. CSI Miami is the spin off from the original CSI which the characters were introduced in an episode called cross jurisdictions (season 2 episode 22).
Usually spin offs can either be really good or really suck, luckily CSI MIami falls into the former catergory. This is mainly down to the strong cast and good writers that the show has.
So who are CSI Miami characters, well there is 5 main people who work for CSI Miami and a few regulars that work for Miami PD.
Horatio Caine played by David Caruso is the lead CSI over at Miami Dade. He used to work as part of the Miami PD bomb Squad before taking the job at CSI. He is not only devoted to justice that sometimes makes him dangerous but also does have a very caring side.
Calleigh Duquesne played by Emily Proctor is CSI ballasic expert. She can match bullets to guns and tell the team who and from where the gun was fired, which is why she is nicknamed bullet girl.
Eric Delko played by Adam Rodriguez is the underwater recovery expert of the team, who studied marine sciences at university before joining CSI. Though born in the US Delko’s parents are from Cuba. Also is the main car expert of the team.
Tim Speedle played by Rory Cochrane is the trace expert on the team. Ex athlete that now spends most of his time with testubes and listening to music.
Alex Woods played by Khandi Alexander is the ME come pathologist for the crime lab. She seems to take a interest in most of her DB’s.
John Hagan and Frank Tripp make up 2 of the officers that help the CSI’s on their work.
In season one Kim Delany played Megan Donner, played the boss of CSI Miami (which caused tensions with Horatio) but for some reason this character was ditched after 10 episodes of the first series.
A new regular addition to the cast from series 2 is Sofia Milos. Sofia plays Yelina Salas (though i think that should be Caine) who is the main police detective that helps CSI. She was married to Horatio’s brother Raymond who was killed a few years previous in a drug deal gone wrong. This character (and Actress) and the underlying storyline between Yelina and Horatio is one of the reasons where season 2 is better than season one.
The storylines are nice and consistant with a few twists and turns that made the original CSI great.
Most of the producers are the same on both shows which helps add some consistancy to it. In season 2 there has been some excellent music (usually based around the lab work scenes).
Originally there was a lot of critism from the member of the original CSI about doing a spin off (i remember reading an interview George Eads who plays Nick Stokes) and i too was skeptical. But CSI Miami Holds its own with the strong cast of characters that it has. Having the characters different from the original series has helped it mature along the way.
I have to admit the first season wasnt great, good but not great, whereas the second season is far better than the first, with the various subplots that a now part of the storyline rather than individual episodes which was what first episodes were like.
All in all if you havent seen CSI Miami i suggest you turn in especially if you like the original CSI, both of these shows are my favourtie TV shows at the moment.
