As described in Entertainment Weekly, The Sopranos is "A typical New Jersey family headed by a dad who just happens to be a stone-cold-killer Mafia capo." From Producer David Chase (The Rockford Files, Northern Exposure, I'll Fly Away), the critically hailed Mob series is reminiscent of GoodFellas with the twist that the lives of the Mafia women are featured almost as much as the men. It was in this fertile environment that Sofia strode into the role of Annalisa Zucca, the curvaceous daughter of an aging and slightly senile Italian Don. Living in Naples, Italy, she essentially replaced her husband as the figurehead of the family and the reigning mob boss. "I was thrilled to get the role," said Sofia, "because it gave me the opportunity to show that a woman can be as strong as she is feminine. I could go toe-to-toe with an American Mafia boss and totally match him."
